Shells, Rocks, Wood Slices Raw Materials Disclaimer
Each piece of shell art is original. The shell, rock, or wood slice you receive will be painted in the same way but may look slightly different from this image because all shells are different in size and imperfections. Every customer is contacted when they buy to discuss personalization.
Pet Portraits (Shell/Rock/Wood/Canvas)
Mill fell in love with painting pet portraits during the pandemic quarantine and hasn't stopped since. She paints all breeds of dogs, cats, horses, and she even recently painted a pineapple conure bird.
Mill sources her clamshells from Long Beach Island, New Jersey beaches, cleans and sterilizes them, and paints them with acrylic paint pens and brushes. Each finished shell gets 2-4 coats of UV resistant varnish to further protect them, and include a stand, so they can be displayed year round. Visual presentation means a lot, so each shell portrait is gift wrapped right on the stand. Portraits painted on a canvas are also available.
You can also choose to have your pet portrait painted on a smooth river rock. All rocks vary in size and shape but usually take up the palm of your hand as pictured below and average 1" to 3" but other sizes can be discussed.
